Leadership & Well-being Coaching

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Coaching gives you dedicated space to step back, think clearly and focus on what matters to you. I won't tell you what to do. Instead, I'll listen carefully, ask questions, challenge your thinking where helpful and support you to find your own way forward.

Often described as a partnership and always based on mutual trust.

What exactly is coaching?

I've spent more than 20 years working with people and leaders, including as CEO, so my coaching is grounded in real leadership experiences. I'm also an ICF accredited coach.

My style is warm, practical and appropriately challenging. I won't tell you how to run your life or career - I'll create the space to help you understand yourself, think more clearly and decide what works for you.

What makes your coaching different?

Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to my coaching practice. What we discuss remains private, subject only to the limited exceptions we'll agree as part of our coaching contract, such as serious safeguarding concerns.

In addition to following the ICF Code of Ethics, we also contract at the start and throughout, our journey.

Is coaching confidential?

No. Coaching focuses primarily on where you are now and where you want to go next. We'll work in partnership to help you explore your situation, consider different perspectives and make decisions that feel right for you.

If it becomes clear that another form of professional support would be more appropriate, I'll always be open and honest about that.

Is coaching like therapy?

How many sessions will I need?

There's no fixed number. Some people come to coaching with a specific issue and find a small number of sessions is enough; others value coaching over a longer period.

A typical coaching programme might involve 6 - 8 sessions, but we'll discuss what feels appropriate for you during the introductory conversation.

There's no pressure to commit before you've decided coaching, and working with me must feel right.

Do I need a diagnosis for neurodiversity coaching?

No. You don't need a formal diagnosis to explore how you think, work and experience the world. We will focus on your strengths, and also how your efforts become sustainable.

Coaching can provide space to understand your strengths, challenges and patterns, and to develop approaches that work better for you.

This is something we would discuss in our initial meeting.

Sessions are usually around 50 minutes and take place online, so you can join from wherever works for you.

We'll agree what you'd like to focus on, but the conversation is yours. We will explore what's most useful to you, and you'll leave with greater clarity about your thinking and, where appropriate, your next steps.

What does a typical session look like?

Coaching is tailored to the individual, and fees can vary depending on whether you're funding coaching personally or through an employer.

We'll discuss the options openly during your free introductory conversation, so you'll know exactly what the cost is before deciding whether you'd like to continue.

There is no charge and no obligation for the introductory call.

How much does coaching cost?

Start with a free 30-minute introductory conversation.

It's simply an opportunity for us to meet online, talk briefly about what you're looking for and see whether coaching together feels right. I'll explain how I work and you can ask anything you'd like before making a decision.

There's no obligation to continue.

How do I get started?

Start a conversation?

You don't need to decide before we speak. That's exactly what the introductory conversation is for.
